August news

Due to staff holidays, we have decided to operate a same day appointment system, this does not mean your issues need to be urgent, everyone is welcome to be seen on the same day. All you  need to do is ring between 08:30-11am and the receptionist will give you a slot time to come down. We hope this will stop any delays forming at this very busy season. As well as our usual 10,500 patients, we also tend to moreholiday makers at this time of year, so please bare with us.  If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact myself, Debbie Kershaw Reception Manager on the usual surgery number.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Wade Rebelo has joined us a full time partner, he has been very popular amongst patients and we are thrilled to have him. So welcome aboard Dr Rebelo.

On behalf of everyone at Plas Meddyg may I wish you all a very safe and happy summer.

Repeat Prescriptions

multicolour_pills

In the interests of patient safety from October 3rd we will no longer be accepting repeat prescriptions over the telephone unless you are housebound.

There are a number of options open for patients on long-term medication to re-order repeat prescriptions:

    • On-line using My Health On-line at http://www.myhealthonline-emisweb.wales.nhs.uk  Please enquire at reception for further details
    • In person - clearly mark the items required on the tear-off part of your prescription and drop it in to the surgery,  or into our external letterbox when we're closed.
    • By post - send it to us with stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.
    • Via local pharmacy collection service - please discuss with your local pharmacy as they may be able to help
    • By fax - 01824 709495

Whichever way you request your repeat prescription, you need to allow 2 working days for it to be processed so please don’t let your medicines run out before you ask for more.

Dispensing

Patients who live over one mile from the surgery may have their prescriptions dispensed at this surgery and should register as dispensing patients. We operate a weekly delivery service to the outlying villages of Llanarmon and Eryrys. Patients wishing to use the service should tell dispensary staff each time they order their prescription. For patients who live in and around Llandegla, the Landegla Community Shop operate a delivery and collection service. Please contact them if you would like further information on this service.

Please can we remind patients that it is their responsibility to check that repeat prescriptions have been issued as requested.  If a patient asks another person or pharmacy to collect their prescription from the surgery, this is still the patient's responsibility.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Symbol Error 3Please allow 48 hours for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
