Staff training

The Surgery will be closed Wednesday 21st  June for staff training between the hours of 13:00-17:00 If you need to speak with the GP urgently, please ring the surgery and select the emergency line.

Appointments

Due to patient feedback we are currently assessing the way we allocate appointments. Becasue of this there will be no routine GP appointments available until after the 3rd March. Until then patients are able to telephone the surgery after 8.30 a.m. Monday to Friday to be given a time to come down to the surgery during the morning to be seen by a GP. As this is a sit and wait service patients must be prepared to wait to be seen.

We ask that patients bear with us as we go through this period of change.

circled_dayPlease telephone 01824 702255 between 08:30 and 18:00 Monday to Friday, or call in at reception. Certain appointments are also available over a secure internet link.

We aim to give you an appointment with an appropriate health professional. You will be able to book one week in advance to see a doctor of your choice and up to three to four weeks in advance to see a Practice Nurse.

Urgent cases are always seen same day by the emergency on-call doctor.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Chaperone Policy

There are occasions when patients need to be examined by a doctor which may involve intimate examinations. It is usual for another person to be present at these times to safeguard the doctor and the patient – a chaperone. The doctor will usually suggest a chaperone for these examinations; although you may choose to decline. At any time, if you wish a chaperone to be present please do not hesitate to ask the doctor. It may not be possible for a chaperone to be provided immediately and you may have to return for the examination to be carried out at a mutually convenient time, or you may wish to ask a friend or relative to come with you.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment to someone else.
