As we step in to Autumn, the time is upon us where we are offering flu vaccines again, and we have plenty of appointments available for you to choose from, so please get in touch with our friendly reception team to book in. 


We are pleased to announce that Mrs Carol Bell has recently joined as a Partner here at Plas Meddyg Surgery alongside being our Practice Manager and we wish to welcome Dr Harish Medagedara who has also joined as a full time Partner.

Staff training

The Surgery will be closed Wednesday 22nd Novemeber between 13:00-17:00 for staff training.  If you need to make an urgent call to the surgery between these times, please ring 01824 704676

Clinics & Services

In addition to GP consultations the practice offers a range of clinics and services:

doctor_baby_girlAntenatal – Shared care between the doctors and midwives Manon Pierce and Rhian Dolben who hold clinics at Plas Meddyg on Thursdays 09:00 – 12:00 by appointment.

Contraception / Sexual Health – A full range of confidential services provided.

Child Development – Dr Woodward and Dr Surgey hold clinics every Thursday afternoon by appointment with the health visitor and practice nurse.

Well Woman / Well Man – Check-ups by appointment with the practice nurse.

Asthma/Diabetes – Check-ups by appointment.

Travel Advice /Immunisation – Please ensure you have allowed enough time before you travel for a course of immunisations. A charge may be made for some non-NHS immunisations. See the above tab for more information.

If the practice is unable to deal with your travel vaccination enquiry. There is a Well Travelled Clinic in Chester which can offer advice on 0844 939 5600. There may be a charge for this service.

Flu Clinic – If you are over 65 or in an “at risk” category (ask at reception for details) you may have an annual vaccination against influenza. Bookings are normally taken in September each year.

New Patients - We offer a simple check-up for all new patients registering with the surgery which we hope you will find helpful. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse as soon as possible after registering.

Counselling Services - You should see your doctor if you feel you need this service and he or she will refer you, if appropriate.

General Nursing Services - Our practice nurses are available by appointment during weekdays for minor blood_pressure8illness advice, ear syringing, dressings and blood pressure etc. They can also give advice on smoking cessation.

Ruthin Hospital

The doctors are members of the medical staff at Ruthin Hospital and care for their own patients admitted to the wards.
